FAQ’s

In an effort to keep you as informed as possible, we’ve provided some answers to some of the most common questions we receive from parents.  If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for here, please feel free to contact us.

Q.  Who are the adults working with my teen?

A.  At Impact, we feel that it’s not only necessary for effective ministry but essential for believers to live out their faith by serving the community and the church.  Our ministry is comprised of both paid and non-paid staff.  All of our volunteers are attenders of Impact Community Church and are fully committed to our Mission and Vision.

Q.  Is there a screening process for your volunteers?

A.  Yes!  We understand the need to protect students and have had a thorough application and screening process in place since 2006.  To join our Youth Staff, applicants must complete an application, submit references and commit to adhere to our Volunteer Policies.  In addition, every volunteer on our team is screened through fingerprinting with the Department of Justice.  If you would like to read through our Student Ministries Volunteer Packet you can download it here.

Q.  Why do I need to fill out a Release Form for every event?

A.  The details of each of our events often differ greatly.  Because each event has it’s own unique set of circumstances, locations and time frames, we feel that it is prudent to require parents acknowledge and approve these changes for each event we offer.  We understand it may be inconvenient and greatly appreciate your understanding.

Q.  What ages can attend Impact Student Ministries?

A.  Our ministry is available to any student in grades 7 through 12.  All of our weekly programs are combined  Junior High and High School.  We understand the challenge that this presents therefore we strategically offer events and retreats throughout the year that are specific to either Junior High or High School.

Q.  Can my teen bring a friend who is not in Junior High or High School?

A.  Because our ministry is designed for Junior High and High School students, we are not able to accommodate those outside of these grades.  In addition to our main weekend services, however, we have a small group designed for College and Young Adults.  Impact also offers incredible Children’s Ministry programs on the weekends for kids younger than Junior High.  You may find more information about these ministries by visiting Impact’s main website.

Q.  Do I need to check my teen in at the Children’s Ministry Check-In?

A.  No, there is no need for checking them in.  We track our attendance and involvement through our Communication Cards which are filled out by students in our programs just as adults do in our Main Worship Service.
